U.S. stocks are pushing to new records. On October 6, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq reached record highs, helped by lower Treasury yields, declining oil prices and continued enthusiasm surrounding artificial intelligence.
The S&P 500 was up about 0.6% in morning trading, while the Nasdaq gained about 0.6%. Nvidia rose 1.2%, bringing its market value close to $6 trillion.
Why it matters: Investors remain heavily focused on technology and AI despite concerns about high interest rates and expensive stock valuations.
